Logan's first Birthday!

I realized that I haven't posted pictures of Logan's birthday, so here we go. It was beautiful the weekend of his birthday so we went to Washington Park to play and watch the geese walk on the frozen lake. Logan is getting so big and loves to try to walk as fast as he can to keep up with his brothers. The other night all the boys were running back and forth down the hall and Logan thought that was great fun! He would laugh and pivot quickly when his brothers were coming toward him. Joshua and Jonas were more excited about Logan's birthday than he was but that makes sense. Logan enjoyed his cupcake that his brothers decorated, we had quite a few cupcakes piled with sprinkles thanks to Jesse! Thank you Momma and Pappa Burt for the cute grasshopper shirt and warm clothes for Logan.

I just love taking pictures of my cute little boys! Logan is getting taller!

Snow!

As soon as the first flakes of the first big snow storm started falling, the boys ran outside all ready to play! We ended up getting enough snow to stick around for a week. Then it warmed up, then cooled down and another snow storm, now it is back to feeling like Spring.

Toy Fun

The boys building some cool tracks with their new train set. Logan had to be put down for a nap so that this project could go on uninterupted.

Christmas

Ohhh! Christmas has come and gone! I knew it would be too fast. Christmas Eve we had a fun dinner with an assortment of delicious food which the boys didn't eat much of because they were so excited! After dinner we read the story of Christ's birth from the scriptures with a little visual help from storyboard pictures we have. Then the boys got to open one gift (jammies from Granny and Grandad Dooley). The boys were very excited to get to bed so Santa could come, but despite getting in bed at 7:00, they didn't stop coming out of the room and go to sleep until 8:00. Lucky for mom and dad, they all slept in until almost 7:00 the next morning!! Before letting them go see what Santa gave them we had a family prayer to remember our thanks for the birth of Jesus. Joshua wanted to run out and immediately start opening gifts, and several times we had to tell Joshua to slow down and wait. Jesse didn't have as many presents to open and was a bit sad to not be opening anything when his brothers were still opening some so we let Jesse open Logan's gifts. They were all happy for their new toys and books except Jesse wanted a pirate ship like his two older brothers! Thank you everyone for the gifts! Have a Happy New Year!

Burt Doings

Well, I thought I had better post an update on our family since I haven't emailed everyone for awhile. Logan has attempted to take his first step twice, but ended up shuffling a foot or plopping down to crawl instead. Jesse is a typical active and happy boy. He is into spitting, wrestling, and teasing! Jonas, well what can we say about him...he is a great helper some days, while other days mommy doesn't have enough things for him to do! Joshua loves school, but is getting a little too emotional maybe because of too much excitement for Christmas. Nathaniel is staying very busy with his new rotation at the hospital and is on his feet lots, thus he is getting Dr. Scholl's inserts for his shoes! Laurie Beth loves this time of year but would like a little more snow and a few less runny noses and coughs in her family :) I also get to teach the RS lesson this Sunday (a bit nervous and scared about that). All in all, we are doing wonderful!

Tis the Season!

Thanksgiving was a great time to see all of the Dooley clan! All my siblings were in Soda to see my parents one last time before they left for their mission. The boys had so much fun running around playing spy and playing in the ton of snow with their cousins. Unfortunately, our good time their ended when we decided to leave early to beat a storm. About an hour into our journey home we hit a deer in the road which broke down the van. Luckily we were close enough for my dad to tow the van back to Soda and my brother came in his van to get us all safely back to Soda. We are glad that nobody was hurt and that it was not super cold for the hour we were sitting in the dark in the cold! Well, at least we got to hear my parents give their farewell talks the next morning, and then Monday we rented a suburban (nice 2010 model) to get us home to Denver. We no longer have the van but were blessed to have an extra vehicle. My dad drove their car to Denver prior to our trip to Idaho and gifted it to us. The car is wide, so it fits three car seats in the back. We are getting by now, and have a little time to shop around for a van/suburban. No snow in Denver yet, and actually we are in the mid to upper 50s right now!! The boys are a bit disappointed. The Ward Christmas breakfast was last Saturday, the boys had a great time anticipating Santa coming. I thought Jesse would be wary about sitting on Santa's lap, but when his turn came he walked up to Santa all by himself and sat on Santa's lap. Merry Christmas everyone!
