Trunk or Treat!

Vampire Joshua, Devil Wesley, Skeleton Logan, Pirate Jonas, and Iron Man Jesse!

Wesley made the cutest little Devil! He even wasn't bothered by the hood on his head!

Logan should have been a monkey because he was swinging around on the back of the van before trunk-or-treat began.

It was a CRAZY Halloween day for the family! In the morning, mommy took Logan and Wesley to see Joshua in his Wax Museum. The 3rd grade classes held a wax museum where the kids chose a character from a book they had read and dressed up like them. They would stand still until someone came and pressed their button, then they would 'come to life' and tell a memorized summary of the book. Joshua was awesome! He dressed as a mummy from a book called "First Day of School".  I forgot my camera, but Aunt Kristi got a picture of him that I will post later. So, after the wax museum, we picked up Jesse from Kindergarten and raced home for a quick lunch before we had to go back to the school to pick up Joshua and take him to his Orthodontist consult appointment in Silverdale. It went well considering I had Joshua, Jesse, Logan, and Wesley with me! We got home in time to have dinner and get ready for Trunk-or-treat. Oh yeah, sometime in there I made and delivered a dinner to a family in the ward who has a new baby! Needless to say, Friday was a curl-up-with-a-book day to recoup.

Leaves!

Wesley was laughing and loving playing in the leaves with his brothers.

Pumpkin Carving!

We grew pumpkins in our garden this year, but ended up having to buy two pumpkins from the store because our pumpkins were small and still a bit green. Joshua carved his all by himself while daddy helped Jonas and Jesse with their shared pumpkin.

Joshua turns 9!

Joshua got to celebrate his birthday twice this year. Once as a combined birthday party with Mama Burt and then another party the night before his birthday (since mommy was gone to a RS retreat on his birthday).  Joshua got to decorate his own cake. He chose robots made from legos fighting against army men! He enjoyed all of the gifts he got, especially the books.  He had told me previously over and over that he had read all the books in the house and needed new ones. I love that he enjoys reading so much!

Grandma and Grandpa Visit!

We were so excited to have Grandma and Grandpa and Sara and her kids come visit us! We had a good time hiking, playing, and working.  Grandpa spent a week cutting down trees and clearing land for their home.  All of the kids loved helping haul branches and watching the big trees come down.

Joshua earned his Wolf badge! We are so proud of him and the hard work he does!!

End of Summer Excitement!

I found a few more ocean pictures, it was really foggy both days.

Saturday we went to the Ward BBQ at Buck Lake and had a really good time!  Besides all the great food and wonderful company, their was bean bag toss game, musical water balloons, and a treasure hunt for the kids.

When we got home from that, David and Nathaniel went to pick up the new additions to our family.......PIGS!!! All week the men have been working on the pig pen and the kids kept asking when the pigs were going to come. Well, they came last night and we all loved watching them get settled in. We bought the pigs from our good friends the Cleavers, who made Nathaniel and David catch the pigs themselves (wish I could have seen that).  I asked the boys what we are going to name the pigs and got several funny replies:  the Grunt Brothers (Cody), Logan and Kaitlyn (Logan), Barbie (Jonas).  On a side note, Abi has introduced Jonas to playing Barbies, and Jonas loves it!  I think that is what prompted Jonas' suggested pig name.

Logan's reaction when he saw the pigs! :)

Update

So much has happened this past month or more.  After the visit from Anna and her kids, I had my surgery and my parents came to help us out for a week and a half.  During that time, Joshua attended Cub Scout Day Camp and had  a blast (the picture of him below is with the wood shelf he made). Grandad and Nathaniel also took the older boys to a Mariners game (Jesse's first baseball game). A few days after my parents left, Allie and Nate came for a visit. On their first day here, Jesse broke his arm!! So, he got to wear a plastic bag for a lot of the next week because we went to the slew and camping at the ocean!  The day after we get home from camping, Allie and Nate have left and I am thinking that I can now get my house back in order and lay low. Ya, we discover that three of the boys have LICE!!!! Aarrrrrgggg!  I am trying to look on the bright side, at least the house is getting spick and span really fast! Anyway, I have some more fun videos and pictures from the ocean that I will post later.
